Coming off of our busy Memorial Day events the support of veterans doesn’t end for VFW Post 406 Newport. Please see the below events and attend if you can by living Post 406’s motto Veterans Serving Veterans.
Yuengling Lagers for Heroes – Tonight May 28 @ 1700- 1900
Over the past 3 years, Yuengling has raised over $21K for the RI State VFW Foundation, money that supports the costs of our state VSO and other programs that help Veterans. Tonight (Thursday, May 28th), the Yuengling rep will be at O’Briens on Thames St, supporting an evening of camaraderie and helping to engage the public to support Veterans.
Newport Elks Veterans Committee – Tonight May 28 @ 1730
As you know, there is a significant cross-section of our membership that also belongs to the Newport Elks. Kevin Callahan is the incoming chair of the Elks Veterans Committee, and has requested that if you are also an Elk that you would consider attending & being involved as a way to foster a stronger relationship between our post and the Elks.
Funeral Services for James Trombley II- Saturday, May 30th @10:30 AM,
James Trombley II was a Newport resident, SEABEE and Vietnam War Veteran. The Post does not have any formal role in his memorial services, but a small contingent of members is planning on attending.
