VFW Post 406 teamed up with the Newport Elks Lodge 104 as the lead organizations for the Newport Gulls Veterans Night at Cardines Field. The pre-game ceremony started with an on-field parade of Elks, Elks Veterans Committee, and VFW Post 406 members. The Honor Guard was provided by local Boy Scouts with the Newport Fire Department Pipe Band providing the music. The first pitches were thrown out by our own Commander Anselm Richards and Elks Veterans Committee Chair Kevin Callahan, among others. Elks and Post 406 members sold tickets for the 50/50 raffle, proceeds which are donated to local Veterans causes.
