On Wednesday March 23rd, the members of VFW Post 406, Newport, invite the public to a special Vietnam Veterans event. Please arrive to the Newport Elks Lodge 104, 141 Pelham Street, Newport, RI at 5:00 pm. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided as well as access to a cash bar. At 6:00 pm, Commander Hugh J. Doyle, U.S. Navy (Retired) will present a lecture- “The Lucky Few” -the story of “Operations Frequent Wind and New Life”- a heroic tale of courage, perseverance, and humanity that was the evacuation of more than 33,000 Vietnamese refugees after the end of the Vietnam War.
