On May 24th, VFW Post 406 hosted the fourth installment of our ongoing lecture series at the Newport Elks Lodge 104. Walter Berbrick, Ph. D., the founding director of Arctic Studies Group at the US Naval War College provided an analysis of NATO’s response to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
He highlighted the irony that Russia’s actions have reinforced the resolve of NATO to remain unified in defense of Europe. Sweden & Finland have also upended decades of neutrality and are now seeking admission to NATO.
