March 29th has been declared National Vietnam Veterans Day. The United States became involved in the war in Vietnam after the end of World War II but direct combat support and combat operation did not benign until about 1955 and ended officially in 1975. More than 58,000 American men and women gave their lives in Vietnam. Another 300,000 were wounded in Vietnam and many more of dying from the affects of Agent Orange.

Until the current War in Afghanistan, the Vietnam War was the longest war America has taken part in.
