FALL 2022 BUDDY POPPY DRIVE

SATURDAY OCTOBER 29th

Since 1922, the Veterans of Foreign Wars have distributed Buddy Poppies each year. The Buddy Poppy is a simple, yet poignant reminder of those that have been lost in service to our great nation. Those that choose to wear them provide a simple yet highly recognizable symbol that they too remember those that were lost.

Buddy Poppies do much more than help to remember the fallen. The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans’ rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home For Children.

On Saturday, October 29, 2022 members of Post 406 will set up outside of local businesses in order to enable the distribution of Poppies to members of the Newport community in time so they can be worn on Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, and any day that someone wants to show that they remember and honor the sacrifices of the fallen.

If you are able to help with this event please complete the form below. A member of our post that is organizing the effort will reach out to you for further coordination.

Thank you!
